The Course
Discover how to adapt classical Pilates apparatus to support neurorehabilitation. You’ll explore evidence-based principles of neuroplasticity and motor learning while practicing safe, scalable progressions on the Reformer, Cadillac/Tower, Chair, and small props. Through demos, labs, and case studies for stroke, Parkinson’s, MS, and TBI, you’ll learn assessment strategies, contraindications, cueing, and documentation-ready treatment planning.
By the end, you’ll know how to boost balance, trunk control, gait quality, and functional endurance with targeted setups your clients can feel right away. We’ll translate techniques to real settings—outpatient, inpatient, home health, and community classes—and show how to collaborate with PT/OT teams, adapt for assistive devices, and track outcomes. Ideal for rehab professionals and Pilates teachers looking to deliver meaningful, measurable change.
What you will learn
I started this course after years of watching new clinicians and instructors feel unsure about where to begin with Pilates equipment in neuro rehabilitation, and I wanted a clear, confidence-building path from day one. You’ll get bite-sized lessons that demystify equipment setup, safety, and essential movement patterns, followed by gentle progressions you can apply immediately with real clients. I carefully designed each module to stack logically—foundations, assessment, cueing, and adaptable programming—so you never feel lost or overwhelmed. Expect printable checklists, quick decision guides, and case-based demos to make learning practical and memorable. It’s friendly, organized, and hands-on, so beginners feel supported, build clinical reasoning fast, and leave ready to deliver safe, effective sessions with measurable results.
Curriculum
Your instructor
Since 2011, I’ve worked closely with people living with spinal cord injury across activity-based therapy settings, a traditional Pilates studio, and now my private practice. I coach clients in person and remotely, integrating Pilates equipment with neuro rehab principles to support function, resilience, and carryover into daily life. Years of hands-on work have taught me the real-world nuance of SCI that no textbook can—how to adapt equipment safely, read the nervous system, and make meaningful progress session by session.
I’m an NCPT and UC Davis Exercise Biology grad, and I’ve devoted my career to understanding human movement and nervous system healing—and to teaching it. I design practical, evidence-informed curricula for movement professionals, and my approach is collaborative, adaptive, and client-centered. I’m passionate about helping you use Pilates equipment confidently and creatively for neuro rehab, so you leave this course skilled, grounded, and inspired.
